1. What migration assistance means
When we agree to help migrate a website, we provide commercially reasonable assistance to copy the site to a VeyoHost hosting account, verify key paths, and advise on DNS cutover timing. Assistance may include files, databases, SSL readiness checks, and basic email/DNS guidance related to the move.
Migration assistance is not a redesign, SEO overhaul, custom development project, or guarantee of zero downtime for every application.
2. Customer responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate access to the source host or package files/database exports
- Disclose special requirements (membership sites, WooCommerce, cron jobs, license-restricted plugins, IP allowlists)
- Keep the source site available as fallback until you accept the new copy
- Test the destination thoroughly before changing public DNS
- Make a final content freeze or maintenance window decision for dynamic sites
- Own the DNS change timing at your registrar or DNS provider
3. What we test
We aim to verify home page load, admin login where credentials are provided, major navigation, SSL readiness, and obvious broken asset paths. Deep functional QA of every plugin, payment gateway, or custom workflow is not included unless expressly agreed in writing.
4. Downtime and risk
The recommended approach keeps the old host online until the new copy is ready. Residual risk remains for DNS propagation, third-party callbacks, cached resolvers, and application-specific quirks. You should maintain backups of the source environment throughout the project.
5. Email and DNS records
Website migration often requires only web record changes. Mail (MX), SPF, DKIM, and verification records may need to stay untouched. You are responsible for approving DNS edits and preventing accidental mail disruption.
6. Third-party licenses and integrations
Some plugins, themes, and SaaS tools must be re-authenticated or re-licensed on the new host. Payment webhooks, APIs, and shipping connectors should be retested by you after cutover.
7. Completion and support after launch
A migration is considered complete when the site is serving from VeyoHost on the destination plan and critical checks agreed for the project have been reviewed. Post-launch application bugs in customer-owned code or plugins are handled as normal support/troubleshooting, not as an open-ended migration warranty.
8. Refusal or pause
We may pause or decline migration work that requires unsafe credential sharing, involves clear Acceptable Use Policy risk, or depends on inaccessible source systems.
